Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners customized to fit your teeth. These aligners exert gentle pressure, gradually shifting your teeth into the desired position over time.
Invisalign aligners are made from clear, virtually transparent plastic. While not entirely invisible, they're significantly less noticeable than traditional braces, offering a discreet teeth-straightening solution.
Smoking is not recommended while wearing Invisalign aligners. Tobacco products can stain the aligners, affecting their transparency and overall effectiveness.
One of the advantages of Invisalign is its removability. You can take out the aligners while eating, allowing you to enjoy your favorite foods without restrictions. However, it's crucial to brush your teeth before reinserting the aligners.
Chewing gum is not recommended while wearing Invisalign aligners as it can stick to the aligners and affect their fit and cleanliness.
For optimal results, aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day, removing them only for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing.
Initially, you might experience minor changes in speech, such as a slight lisp, while your tongue adjusts to the aligners. With time, most people adapt, and any speech impediments tend to diminish.
Clean your aligners regularly by gently brushing them with a toothbrush and lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water as it can distort the aligners. Additionally, use the provided Invisalign cleaning crystals or a mild denture cleaner for thorough cleaning.
Typically, patients visit our office approximately every six weeks. These appointments allow our dentists to monitor progress, provide new aligners, and address any concerns or adjustments needed.
