Dr. Al Fakir’s philosophy in life is to be a part and to be a reason for other people's success and happiness. He expresses: “Being an orthodontist has given me the privilege and the means to create beautiful smiles for happy faces. I am thrilled to work with a great team at Beaumont Orthodontics to continue on my career goal and make a difference in our community.”
Dr. Fakir has practiced dentistry for over fourteen years in the province of Alberta and Ontario, first as a general dentist, then as an Orthodontist. He has completed his Master Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Alberta in 2011. His clinical training paid special attention to the utmost current theories of facial and smile esthetics and interceptive treatment. Prior to completing his master's degree, Dr. Al Fakir completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dr. Al Fakir also completed a diploma of Health service administration at Dalhousie University, which helped strengthen his understanding for the importance of patient care and high quality performance. Dr. Al Fakir’s educational background combined with his experience helped him dealing with patients and people from various ages and ethnicity.
Dr. Al Fakir is a published author in different journals. He also had the privilege to teach in the undergraduate clinic as a clinical instructor at the faculty of dentistry, university of Alberta. He has received a number of awards including the Alberta Higher Education Scholarship 2009 and an academic award 2004 from Dalhousie University. In 2019 Dr Al Fakir received his highest designation as “Diplomate in Orthodontics” from the American Board of Orthodontics.
On a personal note, despite the busy life that we live he believes that family has got the priority in his life; he has a beautiful wife and three young children that have taught him to be a very patient and accommodating.
